A day at the beach
Today we went over to Lake Michigan for a short stroller ride. It was such a nice day we had to get out. I wish this vertigo would go away though. It was a little better than yesterday so I couldn't waste the day in the house all day. Here is the little guy in the car ready to go.

Beautiful Lake Michigan.
And I almost forgot to get out my red, white and blue rug.

When I get my beach house
I have always dreamed of having a home overlooking the water. I guess I will have to put that in my bucket list as Oprah would say. I would love to go to sleep at night hearing the waves crashing. When I was taking sailing trips on Lake Michigan and we would get a slip at the different marinas it was so relaxing to fall asleep with the water slapping against the hull. Of course if I had a home on the water I would need some outdoor furniture so I could relax and entertain of course. Here are some of my top finds.
Hope you are having a great Saturday. No stroller ride for the little one today momma was having some vertigo. Hopefully I am feeling more up to it tomorrow.

Angela Moore Favorites
Angela Moore has the most darling bracelets. My favorites are the nautical ones. Aren't these cute for summer? The red, white and blue ones would be cute to wear this holiday weekend or for 4th of July.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone. We are laying low this year since the little one is only a month old. Maybe a short car trip to take him for a stroller ride since the weather is going to be so nice. Safe travels to all you who will be traveling. Can't wait to see all your fun pictures.

Cute address labels
Bling Tree , an ebay store has the cutest return address labels and are at great prices. I have ordered several myself and have been very happy. Here are a few new ones I would like to order I just can't decide since I like them all. I think I am leaning towards the first three.

Summer Pasta Salad Recipe
Summer Pasta Salad Recipe
16 oz. box of pasta (I used whole wheat rotini)
1/2 lb bacon cooked and crumbled
1/4 cup green onions, thinly sliced
1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
4 oz. package crumbled feta cheese
1/2-3/4 lb baby arugula (I used one package of baby spinach)
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
1 tsp. dijon mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup cooked or grilled chicken pieces, optional
Directions:
Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain well. Transfer pasta to bowl. Add bacon, sliced green onions, cherry tomatoes and arugula to warm pasta. Add feta cheese and toss. Whisk together balsamic vinegar, lemon rind and mustard in small bowl; gradually add olive oil in a slow, steady stream, whisking until blended. Wish in salt and pepper to taste. Toss vinaigrette.
This is a new recipe I made for the hubs and I last evening. I made a few changes to mine. I used baby spinach because the store was out of arugula, I left the chicken out because it was late and didn't feel like cooking up chicken, and lastly I didn't use all the dressing. I just tossed it with just a little of the dressing just because my husband doesn't like a lot of dressing but even with my changes it was really good. I wish I would have taken a picture because it makes a nice looking salad. This was another one the hubs really liked and said "save this recipe"
Hope you enjoy.

Sleepy baby
Good morning,
This is our little guy after eating this morning. He LOVES sleeping in his boppy pillow. I put a blanket over it and it makes a little bird nest. Boy after eating he is out like a light. His little arms and legs go limp. I could sit for hours and just stare at him :-)

Warm weather and a birthday
Today it is supposed to get up to 89. I am so glad. We have had such cool weather around here it feels nice. The hubs watched the baby while I ran a couple of errands and it was nice to throw on some capri's and my sandles. Speaking of babies our little guy is one month old today. We have his one month appointment on Wednesday and I will be curious to see how much our little guy is weighing now. He is growing like a weed.
Hope you all are enjoying some sunny weather where you are today.

Is it a purse or a machine?
My husband got this for me a few months ago and I love it. First it looks like a purse and is why my husband got it for me. Does he know me or what. It is actually a great little embossing machine that is perfect for scrapbooking or card making which I do both of. It is the Sizzix texture boutique. It is so handy. If you like to do paper crafting of any kind it's a fun little machine.

Kids magazine
When I was pregnant I came across Family Fun Magazine at the doctors office. I decided to subscribe to it. It is only $10. Pretty cheap I have to say. I have been receiving it for a couple of months now and it is full of fun kid ideas. Kyle is a bit small now but these ideas will be fun to do as he gets older. Check it out it's a cute magazine.
Hope you all have a great weekend.

NC State baby
Here is our little future NC State wolfpacker (at least according to his daddy). But my sister (his aunt Terri) feels University of Michigan is in his future. I guess we have a few years before Kyle decides what he would like to do.
Have a great weekend.

Decorative Rugs
Happy Thursday everyone!!
Wow are these weeks going by fast since having a baby. I can't believe it. I do get a little more time to blog than I did when I was working. I couldn't blog at work and it seemed that by the time I would get home there was always so many things that I needed to do. Now when the little one goes down for a nap it gives me a few minutes to blog and catch up with all of you. It's been a lot of fun to keep up with you all again :-)
Well it is no surprise to my friends and family that I love decorative rugs. I have usually purchased the vacationland rugs from LL Bean but came across some other cute ones at Outer Banks Trading Group. Here are a few of my favorites. Since I have several of the vacationland rugs at our home in NC I may have to give these a try for our home here. Hmmm so many cute ones how will I decide.
