My week with family part II

The day after wave running we headed to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
It is right in town so I have no idea why we hadn't gone before, but this was our first time going as well. It is a very nice museum and admission is free.

My brother-in-law stayed at the house this day to rest.  I think we wore him out with all the wave running. Poor guy.

This is a whale bone.

My niece had fun being a scientist.

One of his favorite things. Turtles !!!!!!

Cousins :)

I love my techy 9 year old niece taking a picture of herself with her ipod.

These two crack me up. And yes my nephew's shirt says "I put ketchup on my ketchup" that about sums him up.

Pressed coin machine!!! Another favorite of my little one.

Buzz, Buzz

And the adventures will continue.  The next day we headed to the Outer Banks. Hope you all had a wonderful 4th :)

My week with family part I

Last week my sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew were down from Michigan.  We had such a fun week. It was wonderful having them here. The day after they arrived we took them on their first wave running adventure.  Boy did the kids have fun.  The weather started out not too good, but got better as time went on. Here the kids are waiting for hubby and my brother-in-law to bring the wave runners around after putting them in at the boat launch.

My niece and nephew getting ready to ride with their dad for the first time.

This is our little ones first ride on the wave runners.  I think it's been like 5 years since we've gotten them out.  My hubby has been dying to ride them.

Oh boy did my niece and nephew love it!!!

My niece out with hubby.

Well my brother-in-law and nephew took a little swim.  Needless to say it takes a bit to get two people out of the water and back up on a wave runner, but they eventually did it.

Hubby taking the two tubing.  They couldn't get enough.  They wanted to do it again and again.

Even when they fell in they wanted more.

My niece going it alone.  Boy she's a dare devil.  My sister is going to have her hands full.  Ha Ha.

Oh this was funny.  Hubby getting ready to knee board.

This is what my little one preferred.  Just being on the beach.  His 10 minute ride on the wave runner was enough for him.

Oh and the hubby going down.

This was the little one trying to go rescue daddy.  It was so cute!!!

Nephew and brother-in-law

Back with their uncle again. I don't know who was having more fun, the kids or my hubby who LOVES wave running.

My sister and I were out on them as well, but no one got a picture.  Both my sister and I were having knee issues (her post surgery me did something to my muscle the week before) so we didn't want to ride much. I think the kids though want to come back next summer and do this again :)

More to come on our other adventures.

It's been a long time

Hi everyone,
I hope you all are doing good. So sorry it has been forever since I have blogged.  I have no other excuse then running around after this 3 year old of mine.  Time just flies by. Just wanted to drop in real quick and share a couple of pictures from our trip to South Carolina recently.  We had a wonderful time both in Beaufort and Hilton Head Island.  I have sooooo many pictures to share with you all.  Right now I am trying to get ready for my sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew who are arriving down here tomorrow. I am so excited!!!!  I promise I will be back soon to fill you all in on our adventures. Here is the lighthouse at Hilton Head Island.  With my fear of heights I can not believe I climbed to the top!!

Have a wonderful weekend. We are off to the Outer Banks next week with the family so more later.

Walmart Find

If you have followed my blog for a while you may have seen my other posts here and here where I like using bandanas as basket liners. They are easy, inexpensive and add color to any basket or bowl.  They are perfect for baskets for yourself or I use them quite often to line baskets I give as gifts filled with goodies. When I was in Walmart the other day I spotted a new halloween one.  For $1 I had to pick some up.

With halloween just around the corner I thought they would be cute for a boo basket for neighbors or to line a basket and fill with halloween cookies for a friend or coworker.

Hope you all had a nice weekend. Not much went on here since the little one has a cold and cough we are laying low.

Nautical Blankets

I have to say I am loving this cool weather we are getting in North Carolina.  I hope it lasts.  Well even though it's cooler and I am in the fall mood I wanted to share with you these adorable nautical blankets I found this summer. I just love them and they are still available.  They are super soft and pretty good size at 50x70. They are not a real heavy blanket but just enough when you want something over you. I selected the whale and the shells but they also had a coral one which is no longer available.  They are from Lakeside Collection and are only $14.95. So glad I purchased them.  We have really liked them.

This is usually how I find my son most days. He likes to snuggle with both of them.

Happy Tuesday to you all.

Happy Anniversary

Today my parents celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary!!!  Wow is that a long time.  So very proud to have them as my parents and my role models.  They have set such a wonderful example of marriage and how to love, trust and respect one another but also the importance of laughter and having fun. Love them so very much.

Congratulations mom and dad.
