False alarm

I was so excited last night. Around 10:30 pm I started having contractions and bad back pain.   Every 10 minutes for 2 hours. I thought maybe this was it and our little guy was on his way but after 2 hours the contractions subsided.  Bummer. We thought we were going to meet our new son but not yet.  We ran a few errands last night maybe this helped.  I'll have to drag my husband on more errands and maybe we can speed this along :-)  I am still sick but I am back to work just half days and this seems to be working well.

Happy Thursday All!!  Hopefully one of these days soon I will have some exciting news for you all.

37 weeks and counting

We had our 37 week appointment today.  Everything is going good.  I am still sick though.  I am better than last week but still sick.  The doctor tells me today that it won't clear up until I delivery.  UGH!!  I am on day 13 now and I can't stand it.  I have still been off work but I think I am going to try and go tomorrow at least for a little while.  It is just that my head is so congested and I still can't stop coughing.  The doctor had me on monitors today to check the babies heart rate and contractions.  He asked if I was hurting and I said no.  He said the monitors are showing that I am having small contractions 4-5 minutes apart.  Not really feeling anything but YEAH if I am.  At 37 weeks the little guy could come out any time now and we would be fine with that.  He is moving up a storm in there.  Sorry I am still not using my normal computer so I don't have things hooked up to download any pictures.  Trust me I am getting big.  With all this fluid I have, once my water breaks there may be a tsunami report coming across the news channels (ha-ha).

Hope you all have a great week.

Ugh!! I am still sick

Hi all,

I have been so sick this week.  I have already missed 6 days of work and will probably miss more next week.  I can't believe it.  The doctors have been trying everything and finally had to put me on some heavy medication and finally it feels like it might be working. I am worried about the baby but the doctors say because I am at 36 weeks not to worry.  Their main goal is to get me better now.  The hubs had to take me to the ER Tuesday night because I was having lots of problems breathing.  They did lots of tests and had to give me a breathing treatment which helped temporarily.   I guess I just have a really bad cold but all the doctors just keep telling me because of the pregancy and the increased progesterone levels and increased blood flow all the symptoms get amplified and this is why I am so sick and nothing has been working.  They are keeping a close eye on me and the baby and so far the baby is doing fine. I don't think I have ever been this sick before. Can't breath, bad cough and sore throat and completely lost my voice. I can deal with the bad cough and sore throat but the not being able to breath was really scaring me.  When I would try to lay down even with extra pillows under my head I would wake up 15 minutes later and it felt like my throat closed up.  I just ended up sitting up watching tv or would do little things around the house all night because I was too afraid to sleep. So I went about 5 days without sleeping. The doctor said I have to sleep so he gave me some strong cough syrup with codeine which has helped.  I have also been on an antibiotic and a steroid nasal spray as well.  All of which seem to be starting to show some slow progress for recovery.  I am not recovering fast enough though so I know I will be missing more work next week but I have to take care of  myself and the baby right now.  It won't be long now. I just keeping having a talk with our little guy to hang out in there until mommy gets a bit better.  It would be difficult to deliver now with how sick I am.  If I went into labor now I think they would have to do a c-section.
Well that is what I have been up to this week. Hope you all have had a much better week than I have.  Have a great weekend.  We will be staying home but I can't wait to read about the fun things you all have planned.

Happy Easter,

Linda
