Game Night

The hubs is at the NC State vs. Florida State game with friends tonight.  Hope they win. So far NC State is ahead.  Kyle and I are sort of watching it on TV.  Or at least I am just checking the score here and there since the hubs will be talking about the game when he gets home :-)  Go Wolfpack!!

Down Vests

Do any of you have the Lands End down vests?  If not I highly recommend them.  It's bad but I have about 7 or 8 in a variety of colors that I have purchased over the last few years.  You can get them really cheap after the season is over.  They are such the perfect thing when you go shopping or need to run errands.  No heavy coat to deal with.

6 months old

Our little guy turned 6 months old today.  This was a picture from the other day on our walk.  He is teething today and is not in a picture taking mood.  I will try later.  His two bottom teeth came in and now the top gums are swollen. It won't be long before those pop through.  Poor little thing.  He is doing pretty good but is fighting sleep.  He finally went down for a nap.  It just amazes me that after 5 years of fertility treatments that didn't work we finally had this little guy on our own.  There were times I didn't think we would get through those days of shots, tests and failure after failure and now it seems like such a blur.  We feel blessed every day.

Finally made it

We made it to NC after a short detour to Michigan to see my parents.  Been busy trying to get projects done.  We have LOTS of them down here.  UGH!!  We did have a visit from a friend from Texas on Saturday who was in town and on Sunday it was so nice out we managed to get a nice walk in. It's nice to have warm weather again.  Back home it has really been getting cold.

Kyle is a total grandpa's boy it is too cute :-)

He thought he was too cool with his sunglasses on until mom put that pumpkin bib on him (ha-ha).

Such a pretty place to go for a walk.  There was a paved path all the way around the lake.

Kyle watching the ducks.

Hope you are having a great week so far.

Flameless Tea Lights

I have been looking for some flameless tea lights for a little while now.  I don't really want to have candles going with Kyle in the house and there are just some times you don't want to leave a candle unattended.  The best deal I have found so far was 6 for $9.99 that was until we made a run to Sams Club the other day and I spotted these.  Battery operated tea lights $14.98 for 24 plus 48 batteries!!!!  What an awesome deal.  I have several of these halloween and christmas ceramic decorations that need tea lights and these will be perfect.

Hope you all have a great weekend planned.

6 month check up

Our little guy had his 6 month check up yesterday ( 2 weeks early) and is growing like a weed.  He already has 2 teeth that have come through and is enjoying trying new foods.  He is already 21 pounds (97%) and 28 inches + long (98%).  His daddy was 6 feet by the time he was in the 8th grade so he might be on the same path.  He got his shots and this time only cried a little.  He has to be seen again at 9 months but no shots until his 12 month appointment.  He usually spikes a fever after he has had shots but didn't  last night.  He did have a hard time going down for bed though.  Poor little thing these doctor appointments take a lot out of him.  Here are a couple of shots of him the other day after having some squash which he loves.

Have a great day!!

Out on the farm

Last week we took Kyle to a farm in the area that had pumpkins, corn maze and some animals.  This was his first time seeing animals except a dog.  Since we were going I thought I would throw on his 1st halloween shirt for some shots.  He smiles all the time until we get the camera out and then he won't smile.  But here are a few shots from our outing.

Baby goats 2 weeks old.

Well off to take Kyle to his 6 month doctor appointment.  We are 2 weeks early but his doctor will be away.  I can't wait to see how much he weighs.  He is getting so big.  I think he is close to 20 pounds.  Unfortunately he gets more shots but I think these are it until his 12 month appointment.  Have a great day.

It finally arrived!

My vacationland rug from LL Bean finally came.  They have been out of stock for quite some time.  If you have never ordered these you should.  They are great.  This is my third one.  I was hoping it would have come in the summer but that's o.k.  I plan to put it in the NC house.  LL Bean has holiday ones too.  I have several christmas rugs already but those are cute too.  I absolutely LOVE the nautical ones.  I already have the sailboats and sandpipers walking in the sand.  This lighthouse will be a cute addition.

BABY UPDATE:

This morning when I was feeding the baby cereal I noticed his first bottom tooth broke through.  I can't believe he is 5 months already.  He is still trying to get the hang of this crawling thing but can still scoot backwards across the living room floor pretty fast.

Boy it has warmed up around here.  It is in the 70's this week and they even said 79 by Saturday.  Yeah!!

Weekend rundown

Hope everyone had a great weekend.  We had fun in Michigan.  One of my nephews got married.  It rained but all went well and the wedding was beautiful.   One thing I have to say you don't get time to take pictures with a baby that's for sure.  I know everyone else was taking pictures so I hope to get copies.  Kyle was very good but well I'll just say we had a total accident at the wedding and we needed a full outfit change.  Thank heavens I always carry extra clothes.  If I would have been home he would have gone into the tub that is for sure.  Of course the church had no place to change him.  It was a bit crazy.  The reception went well and I got to shortly visit with my cousins from Ohio that I don't get to see very often but it was all too loud for Kyle and all the clamping made him cry so my husband and I got him out of there after we had dinner.  I did manage to snap a picture of my little niece and nephew who were both in the wedding before everything started.  I can't believe they are already 10 and 6.  It seems like yesterday they were Kyle's age.

On Sunday we wanted to take Kyle to the apple orchard but it was way too cold.  We did drive through St. Joseph Michigan on our drive home though.

A bit chilly for wind surfing we thought but didn't seem to bother the 2 guys that were out that day.

Our little guy checking the GPS to make sure we are going the correct way :-)

The lovely traffic coming back into Chicago.  UGH!!  It was so backed up we actually got off and took Lake Shore Dr.

Have a wonderful week.  I hope to get out some of my fall decorations and work on that this week.  Fall is such a fun time of year :-)  I love seeing everyones fall ideas!

Nautical Stocking

I am in LOVE with this adorable nautical stocking from Sew Girlie .  How cute would a set of these be hanging on the mantel.    I have many nautical ornaments and someday I am going to put up an extra christmas tree with all nautical ornaments and this would fit in nicely.  Well we are off to Michigan for a wedding.  Have a great weekend.
