My week with family part V-Cape Hatteras/Ocracoke Island

Hope you all are having a great week.  We are having fun in Michigan.  My nephews wedding was beautiful. Heading out to go sailing with my brother, but wanted to share our last part of our OBX vacation.
One day my hubs, the little one and myself headed to Cape Hatteras while my sister and her family relaxed at the beach.

Driving down to Hatteras you pass the Bodie Lighthouse.  We didn't have time this trip to stop here.

The drive down was beautiful.

I see they have put up a temporary bridge where the hurricane took the road out.

Made it.

The nautical girl that I am I have always wanted to see this. Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is the worlds largest brick lighthouse.

I've never seen my little guy so disappointed.  He wanted to climb it.  I was telling him he wasn't old enough, but once he got there he ended up being an inch too short.  Thank you lord.  No at 3 mommy was not going to let him climb the stairs in there, but they had to tell him he couldn't go. He was so sad.

Boy was it hot that day.

Well after spending some time at the lighthouse, my husband thought since we were so close to the ferry we might as well go over to Ocracoke Island.  So we did :)

Little one has been on a ferry, but he had slept through the first time.  He LOVED this trip.  It's about a 45 minute ride.

So glad we went.  It was such a beautiful day out.

Had lunch here.

Our view from the table.

Since we were on the island we had to stop at the lighthouse.

It's such a pretty lighthouse.

Stopped here on the way back the ferry to get a pressed coin.

Didn't take long for this to happen.

I just loved this house.  Just a little bit away from the ferry docks.

On our drive back the hubs spotted this big chair and had to stop. He is such a big kid :)

Little one was saying this was the best vacation ever.  It was so cute.

A quick evening shell hunting before getting off the national seashore.

Little one loved coming down off the big bridge.

Bodie lighthouse once again. We'll stop there next time.

We had a great time and we were so glad my sister and her family were able to come visit us.

Have a great weekend!!!
