Happy 1st Birthday

Our little one turns 1 year old today.  Happy Birthday Kyle!!!  We are at my parents and had a party on Saturday for him.  It was great to see all my family and catch up. Kyle was so good.  His shirt was a big hit along with the boat shoes.  We all knew that my brother, who is a sailor, would just love these shoes and he sure did.  He is ready to take Kyle out sailing today and is already planning his future to the America's Cup.  Too funny.

Kyle of course has been showing off for his grandparents and has been walking all over the house.  He has been doing more walking than crawling.  It is soooo cute.  We'll be here for a couple of weeks and wonder if he will even crawl at all by the time we get home. He is walking so good and is really getting the hang of this. It is amazing how fast he is changing these days.  So many new things each day.  I think his first molars are starting to come in.  One on top and one on the bottom.  He already has 8 teeth, but these are his first molars.  What a wonderful year this has been watching him grow.  We can't wait to see what the next year brings.  Hope you all had a wonderful Easter.  I will try to catch up with you all as best I can, but being at my parents I have limited internet access :(

Just one more week

I can' believe that a week from today our little one will be a year old already.  Wow has that time gone by fast.  We will be heading to Michigan this week and will be having a little party for him on Saturday.  Since we are doing a nautical theme for his party here is a shirt I found for him at  Cafe Press that I thought was just perfect.

Have a great day.

Weekend recap

Happy Monday all.  Hope everyone had a great weekend.  First I have to share that our little one took 19 steps on his own without hanging on to anything.  He is going to see his grandparents on Thursday and is getting ready to show off for them I am sure :) Sorry I don't have a picture of him walking since I have been videoing it, but here he is opening his first birthday present that came from Pottery Barn Kids the other day.  One of my friends sent him this adorable hooded monogrammed towel.

Next I had so much fun going to a jewelry/accessory trade show over weekend.  Oh my word I got so much stuff.  Some things for myself, but others for gifts.  Here is a picture of all the watches I picked up.  I also purchased bracelets, necklaces and earrings but I don't have those organized yet.

I loved getting things for wholesale prices and because I was buying so many I negotiated an even cheaper price than wholesale.  Pays to ask.  My mom and sisters are going to be squealing when I give them their watches. The others I will save for gifts for friends.  I just love these silicone watches.  They will be a perfect sporty watch for summer.  I have been seeing the exact same watches all over the internet for $30 and up.  Let's just say I didn't pay anywhere near that price.  It is crazy to realize how much things get marked up.

Finally I have to share with you what I woke up to this morning.

Seriously mother nature this is a cruel joke. Darn midwest.

Pink and Green Thursday

It can be difficult these days to find things that are made in American, but check out these cute Madison slides I found from OKA b  They come in so many colors.  These are perfect for a girl like me who is allergic to leather.  I know crazy isn't it but sadly true.

Semi-Wordless Wednesday

It's semi-wordless Wednesday over at Flip flops and pearls so I thought I would show you my new purchase from Preppy Princess.  Madras placemats.

I LOVE them. Better yet they are reversible. I purchased a set of eight and am going to use them with my white plates and either a navy or red napkin.  I am on the hunt for white adironack chair napkin rings if anyone has seen any please let me know :)

Have a great Wednesday!

The Day At The Zoo

Yesterday was such a fabulous day out that we decided to take our little guy to the zoo for the first time.

The tiger was by far Kyle's favorite. He was even making growling sounds.  It was soooo cute.  Luckily the hubs got that on video :)

We all had a great time.  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well.

My favorite hand soap

I don't know if you have ever heard of Neal's Yard Remedies but one of my FAVORITE products of theirs is the Citrus Hand Wash.  Oh my word I love this stuff.  I highly recommend it if you have never tried it.  I just love the smell.

Nautical Totes

Happy Monday everyone.  I hope you had a great weekend.  We didn't do too much this weekend, just a few errands and I worked on my main goal which was to organize photos to start little Kyle's scrapbook.  My plan was to keep up with this as he grew and time just got away from me.  Luckily, I have everything written down so I can back track.  I am bound and determine to get these caught up before the kid turns one this month.  One of the scrapbooks I am making is a little history of every state he has been in.  He has been in 9 so far and I want to add to that as we travel more.  Maybe he will make it to all 50 someday.

Now on to the shopping finds from the weekend.  First I came across these nautical totes at Walmart .

Only $10 people.  I had to have them.  I am so mad that the anchor one is out of stock but I did get the sailboat and the crab.  They arrived this weekend and are really cute and I love the rope handles.  Another thing I like about them is that they are a light weight canvas.  Now I have several LL Bean and Lands' End boat totes which I love, but these can fold down pretty small if you are going on vacation and want to take a beach tote in your suitcase.  My boat totes take up too much room in my suitcase.  They are also light weight and not heavy on the shoulder.  I really recommend them since you can't beat the price.

I also haven't stopped in a dollar store (dollar tree) in forever so on Saturday after I went to Target I stopped in.  I found these cute pink and green baskets.  I think I am going to use them to put stationery and some craft supplies in. Can't pass up a pink and green bargin :)

This one is a little longer.

Have a nice Monday.

Paris Plate Collection

The other night we had some friends over for dinner and I decided to make it a Paris theme and use my Paris dishes.  I have 3 sets and couldn't decide which ones to use so I thought why not use them all :)

This was what I used for appetizers. I love these.  I also have a set with London on them as well.

This was for dinner. Do you like the Eiffel Tower napkin rings.  Thank you Target $1 bins a few years ago.

And here is what I used for dessert and tea. I LOVE the colors of these.  I am so glad I got two sets of these so I have 8. (There are 2 pink ones, but one is a lighter pink and the other is a darker pink)

We served wine, but I also made some cherry limeade if someone wanted a non-alcoholic option so I used my Paris pitcher.  Here is one side.

Here is the other side.

And here are some other finds from the Target $1 bins.

Love the little salt and  pepper shakers

A little candle holder.  I have 2 of these.

I am so glad I got these few shots before everyone got here because with cooking and trying to keep my eye on the little one I had no time for photos.

Do any of you have an obsession with plates like I do?

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
