Back from Michigan

Happy Friday!!

We are back from Michigan. It was so nice to see my family. I miss them so much. I took a few Easter gifts that my niece and nephew had fun with.

On the way there my husband asked me to plug in the GPS. I asked him where the cord was and as you can see from the picture I had quite the de-tangling to do.

I love having a 3 day work week!! I wish I could have this every week. They are predicting snow here this weekend. Yes I said snow. Oh I am so ready for Spring. Somehow Spring has lost it's way to Illinois. (ha-ha)

Walmart Find

Oh I forgot to put it in my last post but I found this shoes at Walmart for $12!! They are super comfortable. I thought kind of cute to wear with my jeans to run around the house, go out and get the mail etc. The flowers make them look nice and springy.

Spring Weather

Happy Wednesday!

Yesterday the weather here was so beautiful so my husband and I had dinner and then went and got some frozen yogurt and took it down to Lake Michigan. I couldn't believe it at 6pm it was still 74 degrees by the lake. Usually closer to the lake it gets a bit cooler. We loved it. Spring weather just makes everything better doesn't it.

Kelly over at http://www.kellyskornerblog.com was talking today about praising God. I praise God today for a wonderful husband and family, great friends, our health, and thankful to him that we live by such a wonderful body of water like Lake Michigan it is beautiful. What are you thankful for today?

ps: It has always been crazy to me that they call Lake Michigan a lake it is so big!! When I lived in Michigan on the east side of Lake Michigan I sailed a lot and just sailing out 10 miles from shore you can't see land anywhere. It is so amazing.

Behind on the blogging

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a great weekend. I have been working so much I am really behind reading all your blogs. I hope to catch up next week. This is going to be another crazy week at work and this weekend we are off to Michigan for a long weekend to see my family. I can't wait. I miss my family so much. We haven't been home since before Christmas and with my mother in law having a stroke we haven't really had the chance to get away. My mother in law is doing a little better each day. The doctors say with a stroke though it can take up to a year so we just take one day at a time. We know God is watching over her and we are so thankful for the progress that she has made thus far.

Prayers answered

Oh I am so happy tonight. God is good. My husband and I went up to the nursing home to see my mother in law tonight (She had a severe stroke 12/26/08). I hadn't been up in several days due to the fact I was sick but when we got there today she sang Happy Birthday to me. I almost started crying. My birthday was 12/28 and we couldn't celebrate nor was she able to speak at that time. Her voice is quite soft but I could hear every word. My husband and I couldn't believe it. Day by day she is making progress and we are so happy. She is still working with PT, OT and speech therapy everyday. It is still going to be a long road but for her to just be able to make her needs known is such a relief for her and our entire family. We thank God tonight for his goodness. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers we can't tell you enough how much we appreciate it.

Sick Girl

I have been home sick for two days now. I think I have the flu. So much for the flu shot I had gotten in the fall. The 2 warmest days(65) that we have had here and I can’t enjoy it. Don’t ya just hate that. I hope I feel better this weekend.

Before I got sick this week I was at Walmart and found these. I always make up Easter baskets for my niece and nephew and I will put these with it. They are drink mixes with gummy worms. The pink one is cherry drink mix and the blue is raspberry. My niece and nephew are going to love them.

Weekend Bargins

Hi, I hope you all had a great weekend. Not much going on here this weekend but I did go to a rummage sale/fundraiser with some ladies I work with and got a few things. My favorite is my new organizer I am going to use for crafts. Love it!! $30 and solid wood. Around here you would pay that for one of those plastic organizers. I also got a few small things. The little shelf was only $2 so I think I will paint it black. I am re-doing one of the guest rooms in our other house and think I will use it there. Well that is all for now. Happy Monday!!
