Well it hasn't been a good weekend here. Unfortunately our dog Sammy that we have had for 13 years passed away yesterday. He has been sick for over a year but Friday night he got really bad and was throwing up everything. By Saturday he was still throwing up and started having problems breathing. My husband gave him pain medication to keep him comfortable but due to his age and length of illness he wasn't going to take any drastic measures. Then Sunday the breathing was rattly like he had fluid in his lungs and in the afternoon he passed away. It is a sad thing but he lived a great life and we know he is no longer suffering. It is so strange around here with no dog in the house though. When I met my husband he had two dogs, by the time we got married we got his mothers dog because she became ill. So for several years we had three dogs. One by one they have all passed away. Shadow was 17, Heidi 14 and now Sammy 13. They have all lived long lives that is for sure especially with Shadow and Sammy being large dogs. I think we have decided to hold off on getting another dog right now with the baby. Maybe after Kyle gets a little older.
Oh and also on Friday (Friday was not a good day) we got our water bill for our other house and it was $400!!!! O.K. our bill is usually zero because we turn off the water in the house before we leave just in case. Hopefully there is no water in the house (one of my husbands friends is going to go in and check)but it appears there may be a break in the pipe from the house to the street. Our neighbor and another friend got the main turned off but someone is coming today to give an estimate on tearing the front yard up. Looks like we will be heading down to NC sometime here to take care of this mess. One of the joys of having a second house I guess. What a weekend it has been. I hope you all had more fun than we did.
