2 month appointment

Our little guy had his 2 month appointment yesterday. His official two months is next week but the doctor is completely booked up next week so we got in this week. He is now 12 pounds 4 ounces and is 24 inches long. He is doing great and getting big. He also had to have his first shots yesterday. I am sure all you mom's out there can relate but it broke my heart to see him cry like that. He was perfectly happy then the nurse and doctor both gave Kyle shots in his legs at the same time. Oh my baby. I got tears in my eyes. I told my husband he may have to take him by himself next time because I don't think momma can handle this :-)

Oh by the way could you send some prayers to my dad.  He is having his pacemaker put in this morning.  I hope all goes well. My brother and sister will be at the hospital with my mom.  I am waiting to hear from my brother now.
Have a great day! 86 and sunny here today.  No rain!!

Lands' End Sale

Hope you all had a great weekend. We were able to get a few things done around the house this weekend since the weather was kind of raining off and on. I forgot to post yesterday but it was our 6th wedding anniversary. We've been together 10 years and married 6. Boy has that flown by. I guess times flies when your having fun. We didn't have any special plans this year. Kyle's doctor doesn't want him out in public (stores, restaurants etc.) until after his 2 month appointment so we just spent the time at home. Got a few things on sale at Lands' End though. T-shirts were just $9.99, these cute umbrellas I really like. They were $14.99. The plaid one is for my husbands car and of course the sailboat one is for my car. And finally I ordered these cute stockings and had them monogrammed for Kyle. $5.99 people and monogramming was FREE. They are much bigger than I thought when I ordered them. Kyle is going to make out like a bandit when santa fills these :-) They are so cute in person I am so glad I ordered both.  Have a great week.

Cute thermal coolers

I was channel surfing yesterday and completed got sucked into the QVC today special value. I thought they would be great for summer and much cuter than those big hard coolers.  You get a set of two one large thermal tote that can hold a ton and one smaller one that looks like a purse but is perfect to carry your lunch in.   They will keep things cold or hot which ever you want to carry.  $24.96 for both the large and small and if you ordered more than one you got $3 off and saved on shipping.  I got both the black and white polka dot and the blue argyle.  I figured I would leave one set here and one set in NC.  The best part they completely fold flat for easy storage.  Those darn hard coolers that we all have take up so much storage room.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Linda :-)

I had my six week appointment and the doctor FINALLY gave me the O.K. to exercise.  Hallelujah!!! The c-section is all healed except for some minor soreness and the doctor said I have no restrictions now.   I am jumping for joy over here.

Happy Wednesday!!

Weekend in Michigan

Hope you all had a great weekend. Our little one took his first trip to Michigan this weekend to see his grandparents.  Kyle couldn't have been better. He was so good on the 5 hour car ride and at the house. Kyle is 6 weeks old today but this was the first time my parents got to see our little baby in person. The doctor wanted us to wait before traveling and my dad has been having some heart problems and had to go through lots of tests and couldn't come over.   All the tests came back good thank heavens but the doctor feels he needs a pacemaker so that will be put in June 16th.  I guess they feel his heart is skipping a beat every once in a while.  I hope all goes well.  My parents are both in their 80's now.  They are doing well but I wish I lived closer so I could see them more often. I miss them so much. They were so excited to see Kyle. We didn't call them to let them know we were coming and totally surprised them.   It was so fun you should have seen their faces when we arrived.  And then of all things Saturday night there was a tornado warning!!  The sirens were going off and the news was saying take cover so we all had to head to the basement.  Luckily everything ended up being fine and the major damage was over in eastern Michigan.  Here are a few shots from the weekend.

Are you having a family reunion, get together or sporting event?

I received an advertisement in the mail from Ink Pixi.  They have t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats etc. you can get with your last name on them. I haven't personally ever done this but I have seen many people that when they have a reunion, large family get together or sporting event will all get matching shirts. Here is an example. Check them out.

Have a great weekend!

Dining at the beach

Will you be doing some summer entertaining this year and would love for it to be at the beach but just can't make it to the beach?  Well here are some great ideas to bring the beach to you.  Between Naps on the Porch has Tablescape Thursday which provides some great table decorating inspiration.  Here are just a few that I LOVE!!

Birthday Wishes

I wanted to send out a Big Happy Birthday to my sister who turns 42 today and my husbands grandmother who turns 91.  Hope you both have a wonderful birthday.

Award

Big thanks to Sweet Southern Prep for this Your Going Places award.  The question is, where do I hope to be in 10 years.  I have to say this is a hard one to answer.  If you would have ever told me I would have been living in Illinois for 10 years I wouldn't have believed it. But 10 years has flown by.  Well lets see I will give it a try.  First I hope that we will be blessed with another child.  My husband is an only child and would really like our little guy to have a sister or brother.  Next I definitely want to move out of Illinois and closer to the ocean.  If I am dreaming big I hope we will have our beach home by then. (ha-ha).  This may be harder to convince my husband.  He's not into ocean front due to hurricanes and other natural disasters.  Well if we can't be ocean front than maybe within walking distance or within a short drive.  From our NC home I can be at the ocean in about 2 hours. Closer than Illinois but a little too far for me.  And finally I hope that our time frees up and we will be able to travel more and show our kids the world.  I was fortunate to travel alot with my parents growing up and it was an education I will never forget.

I pass this award on to anyone who would like to play.

Have a great day!

Linda
