Projects vs Entertaining

I had all these projects I wanted to get done this trip but hardly anything is done. What have we been up to, well entertaining. I think we have had people over for dinner a least every other night or we have been invited to the neighbors. We have had so much fun catching up with everyone though. I have to say trying to get dinner and the house ready for a crowd has been a new experience with a baby. I am starting to get the hang of it but whew am I tired. He is such a great baby though we are very thankful. We did get some outside projects done and I have ripped down some awful wallpaper in one of the bathrooms I have wanted to do for 10 years. That felt good. I am in the process of re-doing a chair for the first time more pictures on that later.  We did get to go to one of my husbands favorite ice cream places Goodberry's. Yummy!!

And we also finally had a chance to drive out to "The Farm" as my husband calls it.  We own 68 acres about 30 minutes from our house and haven't been out there to check on the property in several years.  We have a little road that we can drive through part of the property.

It has grown up so much I can't believe it.

At this point on the path my husband wanted to get out and walk the property a little bit but since we have the baby I stayed in the car with him.  Well the husband was gone for a while.  I couldn't see him, of course there is no cell phone coverage and the woods is pretty thick. I was TOTALLY freaking myself out.   As Kyle and I sat there all I could think about was every horror movie I have ever seen.  I was waiting for Jason to come walking through the woods.  I know crazy but I couldn't help it.  My husband couldn't stop laughing when he finally got back to the car and I shared that with him.  I told him we should have a haunted hayride out here for Halloween.  It could be really scary.

Tonight it is just me and the babes.  He is in bed and the hubs is at the NC State game with a friend.  So yahoo I get a chance to blog.  I am watching the game on ESPN though 30 to 13 right now.  Go Wolpack!! They have been playing great this year.  We have a few more days down here and then we go back north.  The weather has been in the 90's here.  Up north I hear has been cool.  I hope to head to the coast this weekend at least for the day.  We will have to see how things go.  Well going to try and get a few things done before the guys get back from the game.  Have a great weekend!!

I would have been scared too! Do you lease the property? Why not go more often? Looks beautiful!
