Mackinac Island Part 3

Warning... Lots of photos.

On Saturday (July 3rd) we got up early to take the Mackinac Island Carriage Tour. We started the first half of the tour in a carriage pulled by 2 horses.

Here are some pictures along the way.

Here is some of the housing for the employees who work at the Grand Hotel.

The Grand Hotel. Isn't it beautiful. We wanted to stay here but since we decided last minute to take this trip the only rooms they had left were $850 a night!! You can stay here cheaper especially when it is not 4th of July weekend.

The Grand Hotel paints the upper part of their balconies blue so it looks like the sky and birds and insects don't nest there.

Here is the 3 horse carriage we switched to once we made it to the top of the hill.
Some pictures from the carriage.

This is Arch Rock. They stop the tour so you can get out and take some pictures. The views from up here were amazing.

Me and my hubs :-)

The carriage ride also stops at Fort Mackinac if you want to get off here which we did or you can continue and the carriage tour will end in town.

Here is another shot of the carriage we were in.

I am so glad we stopped our carriage tour at the fort. The views were amazing!! And it was such a beautiful day on Saturday it was perfect for pictures.

A view from the fort of Mackinac Bridge.

A view of the Grand Hotel golf course.

The Grand Hotel has a little restaurant in the Fort so we stopped here for lunch. The views were so beautiful I didn't want to leave.

There are all kinds of events going on in the Fort including special things for the kiddos.

Hope you all have a great week.
Linda
